What is wbmp?
The WBMP file format stands for ‘Wireless Bitmap File Format’. It is a WAP graphic format optimized for mobile devices. Each pixel is saved as 1bit which means that a 8 x 8 pixel image will only require 64 bits ( 8 bytes). There is no support for colours or greyscale it only allows black and white as colours. A RLE file format, short for Run-Length encoding, is a 4 or 8-bit RLE-encoded bitmap image, which is basically a DIB file that uses RLE compression. It is a common image format used in early versions of Windows and CompuServe software. The RLE image format is the native format used by the Utah Raster Toolkit, a collection of programs and C routines for managing raster images.
