MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3, more commonly referred to as MP3, is a digital audio encoding format using a form of lossy data compression. It is a common audio format for consumer audio storage, as well as a de facto standard encoding for the transfer and playback of music on digital audio players. MP3 is an audio-specific format that was designed by the Moving Picture Experts Group.

The 3GP file format is a multimedia file dat is associated with ‘3GPP‘. This and 3GPP2 are considered the new standards for the creation, delivery and playback op multimedia over high-speed networks. The 3rd Generation Partnership Projects have been brought to life to deliver rich multimedia over evolved broadband networks, often called 3rd generation networks, to the new multimedia-enabled wireless devices. 3GPP and 3GPP2 are based on the MPEG-4 standard, derived by QuickTime.
