A M4R extension is the extension given to a ringtone file, created for the iPhone by Apple Inc. Basically, a M4R file is just a M4A file that has been renamed. All music files can be converted to an iPhoe ringtone by renaming a music clip of maximum 30 second length to .M4R. Import the M4R to iTunes and sync the playlist with your iPhone.
