What is 3g2?

The 3G2 file type is a multimedia file, which is primarily associated with ‘3GPP2’. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and 3rd Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2) are considered the new standards for the creation, playback and delivery of multimedia over high-speed wireless networks (third generation). 3GPP and 3GPP2 seek to provide an uniform delivery of rich multimedia to the latest multimedia-enabled wireless devices. Both 3GPP and 3GPP2 are based on the MPEG-4 standard by Apple’s QuickTime.
