What is m4v?

The M4V video file type is associated with an MPEG-4 video file that has been developed by Apple Inc. In fact, it is very similar to the MP4 extension, but M4V files can optionally be protected by DRM Copy protection. Apple uses M4V files for tv episodes, movies and music clips.

What is vro?

The VRO file format is a DVD Recorder file. This file format is used for streaming (real-time) recording of DVD discs. Most DVD’s also contain IFO files files that contains information about timing for the VRO files. This differs from VOB files where the timing data is already included. Tip: if you plan to use certain VRO files in a video editing program you might be able to do this without converting by changing the file extension to “.mpeg”. Don’t forget to change it back if this doesn’t work.
