xpm

The XPM file type is a bitmap image used by the X Windows System and was created in 1989 by Colas Nahaboo and Daniel Dardailler working at Bull Research center to extend the XBM file. Later it was enhanced by Arnoud Le Hors. It mainly used for creating icon pixmaps that support transparency and grey-scaling. Both XBM and XPM can be included in C program source code an compiled directly into applications.
