An EPS file type, short for Encapsulated PostScript, can be distinquished in two types: One is a vector based graphics file which can easily be edited for type and color in Adobe Illustrator or other vector based applications such as Coral Draw. They are either CMYK colour, or flat pantone based and can be scaled in size without losing the output. The other EPS type is a photo file that is flattened. These can be opened by Adobe Photoshop or other image editors. This type of EPS file however, will significantly be reduced in quality when scaled beyond the set resolution.
