What is gvi?

A GVI file, short for Google Video, is a video format used by the video player developed by Google. It is similar to an AVI file and is encoded in DIVX4 with a MP3 compressed audio track. The Google Video Player is no longer available as it has been discontinued in 2007 by Google.

The AMV file format is a movie file that is associated with MTV for the use in Chinese MP3, MP4 and MTV players, which are classified as S1 MP3 players. The AMV format is also used by X-Micro Video’s MP3 400 player, which has been enabled AMV files to be played on Windows PC’s.
