What is dwg?

A DWG file extension is a Drawing Database of 2D and/or 3D drawings that are created within the AutoCAD application. A DWG file contains vector images and other metadata that describe other contents of the file. The DWG extension is related to the DXF format, which is basically an ASCII version of a DWG file. Besides AutoCAD and other professional CAD applications, a DWG file can also be opened by third-party software. The OTB file extension is an “Over The Air Bitmap” image by Nokia that is used for the transmission of pictures between Nokia and Siemens phones, often as a series of one or more text messages.
